Tim Farron tables Early Day Motion on LGBT Rights in Russia
Lib Dem party president Tim Farron MP has tabled an Early Day Motion in Parliament on LGBT rights in Russia. The MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale said, "As a long-time supporter of Amnesty International I believe human rights are inalienable and something we must protect and extend throughout the world. The recent laws passed in Russia are the equivalent of the awful section 28 laws we had in the UK. I hope the government will use every avenue of diplomatic pressure possible to make them drop these laws, this is an area we can take a stand and I hope we will."

Why do we bother educating disabled people?
Many disabled people with live long conditions consider themselves unable or unfit for work and can be assessed and tested accordingly, currently writing them off as able of make any contribution to society. So why do we not go a step further and use ATOS to assess people to see if they were worthy of an education if they will never be able to work? Using this logic, it means fair not to waste money educating people who will not benefit from it!
