Also at the Conference, the Borough's achievements with children and young people were recognised on a national stage, when Cllr Hulbert spoke on a panel at a fringe event-organised by Family UK, which represents fourteen different charities-discussing families and early years intervention. The 2013 Review of Parliamentary constituency boundaries will introduce substantial changes. It will reduce the number of constituencies in England from 533 to 502 and make sure that each constituency has a similar number of registered electors.
Construction work is due to begin on Tuesday 27th September on a long-awaited "Multi Use Games Area" on Napier Street in Shieldfield. The facility is targeted particularly at young people, who asked for it in a community consultation.
After more than 10 years of talk and delays, it has now been announced that the final phase of the work on the underpass or "tunnel" linking Blenheim Road to Stones Road and Miles Road under the railway line will start on 3 October.
