Research by Rochdale Liberal Democrats has revealed that nearly £100,000 of local Council Tax payers money was spent on outside consultants by Labour in Rochdale between January 2001 and September 2002. The cash was spent on research carried out by Vision 21, a Director of the company is Labour's Parliamentary Candidate, Simon Danczuk. Labour controlled the council at the time with 31 Councillors and were led by former Councillor Peter Roberts, with Councillor Allen Brett (Mr Danczuk's Agent) as Deputy Leader.
Chesterfield MP, Paul Holmes MP spent today (Tuesday 25th September) visiting the HMRC offices at Markham House and Dents Chamber. Local MP Tim Farron was horrified at the outbreak of bluetongue disease over the weekend at a farm in Suffolk. The news comes as the fight to contain foot and mouth continues. This will come as a huge blow to an already beleaguered industry.
Local MP, Tim Farron is today urging Ministers to allow farmers to move livestock between farms as soon as possible, this move is essential for animal welfare and to prevent overgrazing and damage to our countryside landscape. Secondly, Mr Farron is calling for general animal movement restrictions to be relaxed on a regional basis to enable sales to take place.
