Control orders must go, say Liberal Democrats
The Liberal Democrats have voted against the extension of control orders when the Commons debated their renewal. Writing in today's Guardian, Lib Dem Shadow Home Secretary Nick Clegg explains that the party want the orders, which can range from tagging to virtual house arrest, repealed and replaced by a package of new measures to strengthen our ability to prosecute terror suspects in court.

Kent Trading Standards Warn of Doorstep Alarm Salesman
Kent Trading Standards have advised that a doorstep alarm seller is operating in the Folkestone area this week. He is described as a white male around 38-40 years old, wearing dark or black coloured clothing. He offers to fit alarm systems to properties. He is possibly travelling by foot and carrying a bag.

Lord McNally says 'It's good to talk in Milnrow and Newhey'
Leader of the Liberal Democrats in the House of Lords and former Stockport Labour MP - Lord Tom McNally came to Milnow and Newhey in the first of many high profile visits from senior politicians to discuss political issues in the area. Over the next few months senior Lib Dem figures like Nick Clegg MP, Simon Hughes MP and others will be going to Milnrow and Newhey to discuss some of the key political issues facing us. Last year Leading Lib Dem Chris Huhne MP visited Milnrow Station to look at transport problems.
